Time with nature

All About Me

I am a “story-ographer”. With pen and my camera in hand I record my experiences on this  journey we call life. Sometimes to the mountains, sometimes across the sea and sometimes along a country lane.

I grew up in the north west of England, Lancashire to be precise, in a northern industrial town. I grew up liking adventures. As a child, I loved spending time at my grandparent’s house, playing hide and seek in the empty pig pens, collecting eggs and picking apples in the autumn, which would be stored in bedding boxes in the old, static caravan ‘down the field’. As I grew older, I began wandering the woods and hills of The Forest of Bowland and The Lake District. I travelled to different places in the world, New Zealand, Slovakia, Turkey, USA, Morocco,  but I always returned home. One day I moved away from ‘the North West’ altogether. I moved south to the Midlands and sometimes Europe.

During my life I’ve dabbled briefly with a career in engineering, but decided teaching was for me. Then I tried life as a photographer and worked freelance. After that I learned how to teach children in a woodland, so that now I still teach, I still take photographs and I write stories and poems.

I return home to the North West of England as often as I can on a pilgrimage to Booths supermarket. To stock up on supplies and see if they will ever do long distance delivery!
